A new railway station which will drop passengers on the doorstep of Kraków’s Balice airport is to be built as part of an upgrade to the line connecting the terminal and the city centre.
The railway line will also be rebuilt, and trains will be powered by electricity which will allow them to travel at up to 80km per hour. The work will shorten the journey time between Kraków city centre and the airport, and could mean more frequent trains.
Rail operator PKP has invited bids for the project, which is expected to begin next year and will be complete by 2015.
