It may be cold outside, but lost and unwanted pets in Olsztyn can be sure of a warm welcome at the city animal shelter’s new facilities.
The shelter has installed 52 new ‘pet boxes’ to provide temporary homes for dogs and cats. It also has improved veterinary surgery facilities and a kitchen where meals for animals will be prepared.
Human visitors will feel very welcome too, thanks to the opening of a new education room, in which children can learn about animal care. The work at the shelter cost around 1 million złoty, and was funded by the city council.
