The construction of Warsaw’s new Metro line is damaging homes, some residents in the capital have claimed.
Householders on ulica Targowa said the building work to expand the Warsaw Metro, which began in their district in September, had caused plaster and brickwork to crack. They took to the streets on January 26 with banners reading ‘Metro budują, Targową rujnują’ (Metro building ruins Targowa).
They have the support of local councillors, and have hired lawyers to take their case to the city. The authorities have not yet commented.
The troubled Metro expansion project hit the headlines last summer, when the planned Powiśle station flooded.
