A Polish swimmer is to make his second attempt at swimming from England to France, in a bid to join an elite club who have achieved a physical feat which sees more failures than attempts on Mount Everest.
Grzegorz Radomski, of Opole, tried last year to cover the distance of almost 40km, but was forced to quit when bad weather hit just 10km from Calais.
His attempt this summer, if successful, will make him only the third Pole to complete the swim, alongside Teresa Zarzeczańska in 1975 and Romuald Szopa in 1978. But he needs help from the public, for the costs of attempting the swim, including some 10,000zł insurance, add up to 30,000zł.
