Two of Kraków’s most outstanding museums are in the running for a prestigious architecture prize.

MOCAK, the museum of modern art in Kraków, and the Muzeum Armii Krajowej (pictured), have been shortlisted for the European Commission’s Mies van der Rohe prize. They were nominated by the Polish Chamber of Architects and the Association of Polish Architects, and stand to collect prizes of around 250,000 zł.

The Mies van der Rohe prize is named after the German-American architect. The winners will be announced in Barcelona in June.
