Wojciech Smarzowski is not known for making movies that leave you with a spring in your step and a feeling that all is well with the world. His latest film, about police corruption in Warsaw, is in fact a little less gruesome than the likes of Róża and Dom Zły, but nevertheless it’s a long way from sweetness and light.
Drogówka (Highway Patrol) was released in Poland on February 1. It’s the story of a group of police officers who find that honour amongst thieves only holds true as long as the thieves don’t start killing each other.
Starring Marian Dziedziel, Marcin Dorociński, Bartłomiej Toper and Julia Kijowska, Drogówka is in cinemas around Poland now.
