The final phase on a new rail connection that will cut journey times from Zielona Góra to Poznań is underway, with the first 100km per hour trains expected to be using the finished line in June.

However, the work means that residents of the town of Czerwieńsk will have to find another way to get around – as the fast trains will no longer call at their station en route from Zielona Góra to Zbąszynek.

The PKP project has already seen modernisation to infrastructure including bridge, junction and level crossing improvements. In all, it has cost about 60 million złoty.
