One of the UK’s best-known holiday centre operators is flying in Polish workers, because British applicants are not up to the job.
The heads of accommodation and catering at Butlins holiday camps flew to Poland on March 7, to interview candidates for ‘dream team’ jobs at holiday sites in the UK.
A spokesman for Butlins told the Daily Mirror newspaper that the two had flown to Poland, adding: ““They are looking for dream team roles – mixed accommodation and catering. They are looking for people in Poland to fill missing numbers.
“Agencies in Poland keep putting people on waiting lists so they are ready when we need them.”
A job centre open day in the UK had filled six of the 12 roles available, but the other British applicants were unsuitable.
