A man who was shot dead at home alongside his girlfriend and their young daughter was due to appear in court next week to answer charges of illegal arms dealing.
Adam K was found dead next to his girlfriend, with their 18-month-old daughter lying perpendicular to them, on March 14 at 5pm. The adults had been shot, and the child beaten, and all had died the previous night.
Adam K had been due to appear in court on March 21, in connection with a package of automatic rifles and gun parts that was mailed to the United States in February.
The newspaper Gazeta Wyborcza reports that a hired killer, possibly from abroad, had murdered the family after a deal went wrong.
Speaking at a press conference on March 15, a police spokeswoman said: “Gdańsk police have appointed a special group which is working at the scene. We appeal for all relevant information in regard to this.”
The spokeswoman said a range of motives was being considered, and that further detailed information could not yet be given.
She added: “We ask you for your understanding and patience. This case is unique, thus providing a lot of information now is impossible. The Prosecutor’s Office is taking over the investigation, and will keep you informed.”
Anyone with information about the murders should call police on 800 677 777.
