Victor Magnussen: Born May 2 1953, Canada. Died March 16, 2013, USA.

An obituary for Victor Magnussen, the Canadian singer-songwriter who made Kraków his second home, is to be published in a newspaper in his home town on April 5.

Friends maintaining Victor’s Facebook page posted the article, due to appear in the Vancouver Sun. It reads:

“Victor Paul Allen Magnussen, 2 May 1953-16 March 2013.
“Victor crossed over to eternity while skiing at Lake Tahoe, California. He was born and raised in Vancouver, graduated Eric Hamber Secondary 1972, later attaining a bachelor of arts degree.
“Charismatic, multi-talented Victor, never gave up on his dreams and was always there for people when they needed help. He was a well respected teacher, actor, musician, singer, song writer and loyal friend.
“He will be deeply missed on both North American and European continents by family and friends.
“Celebration of Victor’s life will be held on Friday, April 12 at 7pm. St. Paul’s Anglican Church Labyrinth on Jervis and Pendrell.
“In lieu of flowers donations are welcomed to Sr. Paul’s Church Advocacy Office.”

A free memorial concert will be held in Kraków, on April 20, at 7.30pm, at Cafe Szafe.
